Workshop Controller

About the role

As a Workshop Controller you will oversee the daily operations of the service workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality repairs, and exceptional customer service. You will manage a team of technicians, assign work orders, and coordinate with service advisors and the parts department to optimize performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate technician activities, assigning work orders and prioritizing tasks.
• Review service schedules and adjust staffing levels to meet customer demand.
• Monitor technician productivity, providing guidance and training.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer service standards, warranty guidelines, and safety regulations.
• Liaise with service advisors to communicate repair status and estimated completion times.
• Coordinate with the parts department to secure timely availability of required parts.
• Conduct quality inspections of completed work to ensure repairs meet dealership standards.
• Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including work orders and technician timecards.
• Resolve customer complaints related to workshop operations promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technology certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an automotive technician with a focus on diagnostics.
• Manufacturer-specific training or certifications from Toyota are highly beneficial.
• Strong understanding of warranty guidelines.
• Manufacturer-specific training and certifications from Toyota or similar programs.
