Project Controls Engineer – Al-Qalam Hospital

About the role

Yaqoub Holdings Group is delivering the Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings in Erbil, Iraq. The Project Controls Engineer will support the Project Manager by maintaining schedules, monitoring progress, managing documentation, and coordinating reporting throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for all disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and medical systems.
• Prepare, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Support baseline, look‑ahead, recovery, and commissioning schedule development.
• Track planned versus actual progress, identify risks, and report schedule deviations.
• Produce daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and performance summaries.
• Maintain document control registers for drawings, RFIs, submittals, method statements, NCRs, test reports, and handover documents.
• Monitor quality documentation, inspections, corrective actions, testing, commissioning, snagging, and project close‑out activities.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction progress and update records.
• Assist with progress measurement, payment verification, and issue/risk log management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
