QA/QC Lead for Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced QA/QC Lead to join its Iraq Business Unit in Kirkuk. The role supports quality and material inspection activities within a broader asset integrity management programme for major oil and gas assets. It is a full‑time, on‑site position with travel requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise QC inspectors and NDT personnel, define responsibilities, provide training and conduct performance evaluations.
• Monitor and control quality control and surveillance activities for multiple construction contracts, including implementation of Contractor Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
• Prepare and develop quality control procedures (NDT, inspection, coating) and ensure equipment calibration and certification.
• Manage non‑conformance reports, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain quality documentation, track KPIs and audit the Quality Management System for compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• AMPP/NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or equivalent preferred; API 571 certification preferred; API 580 advantageous.
• Proven experience leading QC/NDT teams on oil and gas construction or modification projects.

Required skills

• NDT inspection techniques and welding inspection.
• API 571 and API 580 standards.
• AMPP/NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobe Acrobat.
