Construction Site Lead – Kirkuk, Iraq

About the role

Wood is recruiting a Construction Site Lead for its Iraq business unit. The role supports corrosion and materials engineering activities within a broader asset integrity management program for major oil and gas assets. It is a full‑time on‑site position based in Kirkuk with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Accountable for a dedicated construction package, leading all phases from planning to execution while ensuring safety and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with the Project Construction Coordinator to plan, organise and safely execute construction activities.
• Track progress, control budgets and schedules, manage quality and safety, and provide regular updates to management.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and vendors to meet project specifications and timelines.
• Identify and resolve construction issues, ensuring continuity and efficiency.
• Prepare meeting minutes, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of experience in oil & gas construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
