Process Specialist - Oil Refinery

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Process Specialist to lead engineering activities across its oil refinery units. The role focuses on optimizing distillation, catalytic reforming, hydrotreating, and sweetening processes to improve plant efficiency, safety, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform process engineering tasks for refinery units, monitor performance, and identify optimization opportunities.
• Conduct technical analysis, troubleshoot process issues, and evaluate equipment performance.
• Review and comment on FEED, PFDs, P&IDs, and Process Design Packages.
• Support operations and technical teams in resolving process‑related problems and perform calculations for hydraulics, heat and mass transfer.
• Participate in technical studies, debottlenecking activities, and prepare accurate engineering reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; additional certifications in Process Engineering or Refining are a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of hands‑on process engineering experience in an oil refinery, covering distillation, SRR, isomerization, hydrotreating, and Merox sweetening.
• Strong understanding of refinery process units such as crude and product distillation, catalytic reforming, and hydrotreating.

Required skills

• Process engineering expertise in distillation, hydrotreating, semi‑regenerative catalytic reforming, isomerization, and Merox sweetening.
• Proficiency with FEED, PFD, P&ID reviews and process design packages.
• Ability to perform calculations related to hydraulics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
