Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator to work on our site in Balad, Iraq. Under the supervision of the Heavy Equipment Supervisor, you will operate and maintain a range of heavy machinery to support construction, waste handling and material movement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, loaders, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers and industrial tractors for excavation, loading and transport of dirt, gravel and materials.
• Load and unload supplies from ships, docks, warehouses and vehicles, including hazardous materials when required.
• Use cranes or lifts to place non‑hazardous waste into incinerators or open‑air burn pits according to the Solid Waste Management plan.
• Read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans to guide equipment operation.
• Perform greasing, adjustments and emergency repairs on equipment; act as secondary incinerator operator.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; U.S. citizenship required.
• At least three years of heavy‑equipment operating experience.
• Minimum two years operating a 10 K‑capacity forklift or larger.
• Valid RTCH license preferred.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
