Firefighter

About the role

V2X is seeking a qualified Firefighter to join its emergency response team at the Balad site in Iraq. The role involves responding to a wide range of fire and rescue incidents while maintaining equipment and adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire emergencies, extinguish fires and prevent rekindling.
• Operate pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles and other firefighting tools.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, tools and protective clothing in serviceable condition.
• Conduct fire inspections, pre‑incident planning and evidence preservation at fire scenes.
• Operate digital fire alarm receiving equipment and two‑way radio communications.
• Ensure emergency equipment meets NFPA or other industry standards.
• Perform regular proficiency training, on‑the‑job training and maintain required certifications.
• Support logistical duties such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Physical fitness and ability to work in hazardous environments.
• Valid firefighting certifications and willingness to maintain them.
• Commitment to safety, health and environmental standards.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to follow supervision from Crew Chiefs.

Required skills

• Operation of fire pumps and foam generators.
• Use of fire turrets, nozzles and related firefighting equipment.
• Handling of digital fire alarm systems.
• Two‑way radio communications proficiency.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire safety procedures.
