Firefighter

About the role

The Firefighter will be based in Balad, Iraq and will respond to a wide range of emergencies under the direction of the Firefighter Crew Chiefs. The role includes fire suppression, rescue operations, equipment maintenance and participation in regular training to maintain certifications.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, medical, hazardous‑materials and other emergency incidents.
• Operate pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles and other firefighting tools.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, tools and protective clothing in serviceable condition.
• Conduct fire inspections, pre‑incident planning and document safety records.
• Operate digital fire alarm receiving equipment and two‑way radio communications.
• Ensure all emergency equipment meets NFPA or other industry standards.
• Participate in ongoing proficiency training, on‑the‑job training and certification renewal.
• Perform administrative duties such as equipment accountability and maintenance scheduling.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to work in hazardous environments.
• Willingness to wear and maintain personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow strict health and safety procedures.
• Compliance with LOGCAP V contract performance work statement and EHS/QA requirements.
