Firefighter – Balad, Iraq

About the role

V2X is seeking a qualified Firefighter to join its emergency response team at the Balad, Iraq site. Working under the supervision of Firefighter Crew Chiefs, you will respond to a variety of emergencies, protect personnel and property, and ensure fire‑related equipment remains ready for action.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, and hazardous‑material incidents as part of a crew.
• Operate pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles, and digital fire‑alarm receiving equipment.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, protective clothing, and firefighting apparatus in serviceable condition.
• Conduct fire inspections, pre‑incident planning, and evidence preservation at fire scenes.
• Document compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
• Perform routine proficiency training, on‑the‑job training (OJT), and maintain required certifications.
• Support logistical duties such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to work in hazardous environments.
• Willingness to follow strict safety protocols and NFPA standards.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to follow crew chief directives.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.

Required skills

• Operation of fire pumps, foam generators, turrets, and nozzles.
• Use of computerized digital fire‑alarm systems and two‑way radio communications.
• Maintenance of fire‑fighting vehicles, equipment, and personal protective gear.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and emergency response procedures.
