Project Security Manager – Iraq

About the role

The Project Security Manager will lead security operations for a high‑profile client in Iraq, acting as the primary liaison between the client and the security provider. This role ensures that all security activities comply with Iraqi government regulations, client directives, and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all project management functions and ensure contract terms are met.
• Serve as the single point of contact for the client, overseeing planning, preparation, implementation, and oversight of security operations.
• Monitor local threat assessments and advise on mitigation measures.
• Oversee armed protection teams and local guard forces, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
• Conduct weekly inspections of equipment, vehicles, weapons, and ammunition.
• Liaise with the client security team to develop policies, identify gaps, and improve procedures.
• Review, develop, and exercise SOPs under client guidance.
• Provide training and mentorship to security personnel.
• Perform quality assurance of contracted security services and assess employee performance.
• Investigate and report security incidents and accidents.
• Develop relationships with local authorities, police, military, and embassies.
• Coordinate emergency response and produce weekly reports for regional management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of cumulative military, police, or equivalent commercial security and risk management experience.
• Completion of an internationally recognised military Non‑Commissioned Officer or command and leadership course.
