Finance Assistant (2 positions)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking two Finance Assistants to support its financial operations. Working under the guidance of senior mission leadership and the Head of Resources Management, the role involves processing financial data, verifying transactions, and assisting with payroll and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Extract and input data into financial and accounting systems.
• Respond to accounting and financial queries from staff.
• Perform validity checks on monthly payroll results and assist with payroll transfers.
• Review purchase and payment requests, ensuring proper authorization and supporting documentation.
• Verify vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with IOM finance policies.
• Conduct claim verifications and prepare receipt and journal vouchers.
• Assist in preparing budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, and other required reports.
• Provide support for staff travel, expense claims, and document retrieval.
• Maintain systematic filing of payments and accounting documents.
• Conduct primary review of implementing partners' financial reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in financial administration, accounting, or payroll processing.
• Ability to work under general guidance and collaborate with senior staff.
