Shift Technician – Iraqi Nationals Only

About the role

The Shift Technician monitors plant performance from the Control Center Room (CCR) and in the field, supporting safe and efficient operation of the Khormala combined‑cycle power plant during shift hours. You will assist with system startups, shutdowns, routine checks and ensure compliance with safety and plant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance both from the CCR and on‑site, reporting abnormalities and supporting troubleshooting.
• Assist with startup, shutdown and normal operation of gas turbines (GT), steam turbines (ST), HRSGs and auxiliary systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, record critical operational data and maintain accurate shift logs and reports.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety protocols and plant standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams, communicate hand‑over information to the next shift and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field.
• 3–5 years of experience in power‑plant operations or a similar industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of combined‑cycle systems (GT, ST, HRSG, BOP) and familiarity with plant control systems.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to work in shift rotations under supervision.
• Strong willingness to learn, good communication/reporting skills and proficiency in English (Kurdish or Arabic an advantage).

Required skills

• Experience with combined‑cycle systems (gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, balance‑of‑plant).
• Familiarity with plant control systems such as T3000 or similar DCS platforms.
