Senior Project Associate (Livelihoods)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to support the Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) technical team in Sulaymaniah, Iraq. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes related to Environmental & Social Action Plans and Milestone Verification.

Key responsibilities

• Act as focal point for Environmental & Social Action Plan (ESAP) and Milestone Verification (MV) procedures.
• Support the implementation of quality‑assurance processes for the EDF technical team.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for EDF processes.
• Liaise extensively with IOM field staff to respond to requests, follow up on delays, and ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
• Work under the supervision of the Project Officer (Livelihoods) and the National Project Officer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
• Alternatively, a school diploma with six years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other national/international institutions.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
