QHSE Officer – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

EFS Facilities Services is seeking a proactive QHSE Officer to ensure health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across its facilities management operations in Iraq. The role requires a strong on‑site presence, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to support operational teams in maintaining safe work practices and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections, audits and safety observations across the assigned project.
• Support the development and implementation of risk assessments, task risk analyses and hazard identification.
• Monitor permit‑to‑work (PTW) systems and enforce safe work procedures.
• Assist in incident reporting, investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain QHSE records, reports and documentation for traceability and audit readiness.
• Identify non‑conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety awareness sessions and toolbox talks to operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations and client requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and prepare the project for audit readiness.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in QHSE within facilities management, construction or industrial environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, HSE or a related field.
• Basic QHSE certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH (preferred).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is a plus.
