Service Engineer – Heavy Equipment

About the role

The Heavy Equipment Service Engineer will be based in Baghdad (Al‑Saidiya) and will ensure that construction machinery operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and commissioning a wide range of mobile equipment while minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, graders, cranes, forklifts and other mobile machinery.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and schedules.
• Conduct equipment commissioning, testing, calibration and performance evaluations.
• Prepare service reports, inspection records and failure analysis documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience servicing heavy construction equipment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Advanced English language skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic instruments and manufacturer‑specific service software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, hydraulic circuits and electrical schematics.
