Project Manager – Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings

About the role

Yaqoub Holdings Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings project in Erbil, Iraq. You will be responsible for delivering a modern healthcare facility from mobilisation through construction, testing, commissioning and final hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project from mobilisation to final hand‑over, coordinating consultants, contractors, subcontractors, site engineers, QA/QC, HSE, procurement and project controls teams.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Integrate architectural, structural, civil, MEP, medical systems and finishing works.
• Oversee hospital‑specific infrastructure such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, ELV, BMS, medical gases, fire protection, emergency power, elevators and other critical services.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, WBS, look‑ahead and recovery plans, and critical path activities.
• Coordinate procurement of long‑lead items and ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards and regulations.
• Monitor contractor and consultant performance, manage costs, variations and commercial impacts.
• Lead inspections, permits, testing, commissioning, snagging and final documentation.
• Prepare regular progress reports for senior management, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of construction project experience, preferably on large‑scale hospital or complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
