Horizontals Foreman (RTCH, Grader & Heavy Equipment)

About the role

The Horizontal Foreman will be based at the Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) Amentum site in Iraq, supporting the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract for the U.S. Department of State. The role oversees daily material handling and heavy equipment operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient completion of work requests.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and enforce all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Schedule daily work assignments, review work orders, and determine safety, permitting, and equipment needs.
• Provide oversight of material handling and heavy equipment support operations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Monitor personnel performance, ensure proper training, and manage supplies and materials for the department.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of experience with horizontal earthwork and material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and semi‑tractor trucks.
• High school diploma or GED, valid passport (minimum 18 months validity) and driver’s license.
• Existing U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification.
• Ability to work in a war‑zone environment, including extreme temperatures and physically demanding tasks.

Required skills

• Operation of horizontal earthwork and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, semi‑tractor trucks).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
• Knowledge of proper loading techniques, weight capacities, and safety regulations.
