Programme Officer – Social Cohesion & Tribal Engagement

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Programme Officer to lead its Social Cohesion and Tribal Engagement activities in Erbil, Iraq. The role supports the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of programmes that foster peaceful community relations and facilitate the reintegration of displaced populations.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of tribal engagement and social cohesion programmes.
• Coordinate with the Head of the Peace, Recovery and Solutions Division, the Return and Reintegration Programme Manager, the Regional Thematic Specialist and relevant headquarters units.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with tribal leaders, community groups and local authorities.
• Prepare technical reports, briefs and data‑collection tools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Peacebuilding, International Relations, Social Sciences, Resource Management or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in social cohesion, community engagement or peacebuilding.
• Experience working in conflict‑affected or migration contexts, preferably in the Middle East.
