Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance

About the role

GE Vernova is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead and coordinate maintenance activities on a gas‑power plant site. The role involves supervising technicians, managing documentation, and ensuring reliable operation of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Control and update all maintenance documents according to the site Master List of Controlled Documents.
• Assign preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to technicians under the Maintenance Manager’s direction.
• Develop, supervise, and coordinate plant maintenance activities, including planning and inspection of completed work.
• Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondence related to maintenance work.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, instrumentation, control and electrical systems and lead the team in problem resolution.
• Train sub‑ordinates on preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Execute work orders through the CMMS and coordinate with electrical technicians for job completion.
• Assist in planning and scheduling outage work in line with the annual maintenance plan.
• Assess spare‑parts needs, generate requisitions and coordinate with stores and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies, participate in housekeeping, and support EHS audits.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of plant mechanical, instrumentation, control and electrical systems.
• Experience supervising maintenance technicians and managing documentation.
• Ability to plan, schedule and track maintenance and outage activities.
• Familiarity with EHS regulations and quality manuals.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
