About the role
The Drilling Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of drilling, completions and workover programs. This senior position leads HSE compliance, oversees drilling operations, and ensures budgetary control.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, lead by example and achieve HSE KPIs for the rig team.
- Collaborate with engineering during planning to ensure operational feasibility and efficiency.
- Direct Drilling Supervisors, manage change processes, and ensure compliance with Crescent Petroleum standards.
- Conduct wellsite inspections, risk assessments, and verify completion of pre‑job checklists.
- Coordinate equipment planning with engineers and logistics to guarantee timely arrivals.
- Prepare technical specifications for rig procurement and document contracting evaluations.
- Control expenditures, justify budget variances, and report cost and operational progress.
- Provide leadership, performance management, and motivation to contractor staff and subordinates.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Valid well‑control certificate.
- Minimum 15 years of oil‑field experience, including at least 10 years as a Drilling Supervisor or Superintendent.
- At least 5 years in drilling or completions engineering roles.
