Production Technologist - Oil & Gas Data Analysis

About the role

Halliburton is hiring a Production Technologist for its Oils Operation in Basra, Iraq. Working under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Production Tech records and analyzes data in the office, field or laboratory and writes reports. The role sits within the Operations product service line and is a full-time experienced hire.

Key responsibilities

• Fieldwork: assist geologists and engineers with electronic, sonic or nuclear measuring instruments used to assess oil and gas potential; gather and analyze well and production data; help with well optimization and well failure analysis; prepare monthly performance reports for each producing well.
• Office work: report KPIs for production, new completions, recompletions and workovers; prepare weekly production reports, up/down reports, weekly activity reports and flowback reports for new completions and recompletions.
• Laboratory work: collect formation, mud and soil samples and prepare them for analysis; run scientific tests to determine sample content and characteristics; record test data and compile information from reports, computer databases and other sources; record well temperatures, pressures, flow rates and watercut and compare actual productivity to estimates.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; undergraduate degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in production operations, including oil and gas operations.
• Minimum qualifications can be obtained through technical schools or equivalent related experience.

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
