Logistics Support Specialist Advisor

About the role

The Logistics Support Specialist Advisor provides technical advice and operational support to the General Services Office and other embassy sections for travel manifesting, transportation logistics, and shuttle bus operations. The role ensures smooth personnel movement to and from Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) and supports project planning, management, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the GSO, Regional Security Office, Airport Liaison Unit, and airport agents in planning, managing, and executing shuttle processes from manifesting to execution.
• Review contractor shuttle operations, identify deficiencies, and monitor performance metrics.
• Develop and maintain reports that summarize trends, forecast service needs, and highlight shortfalls.
• Advise the Department of State, other agencies, and contractors on shuttle procedures and special projects.
• Provide training, guidance, and workload assignments to shuttle coordinator staff.
• Support recruitment, hiring, and training of local Iraqi staff for long‑term shuttle operations.
• Maintain the Contractor Shuttle Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to reflect current embassy regulations.
• Respond to inquiries regarding shuttle processes and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of transportation and shuttle bus manifesting experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of logistics systems and responsibilities.
