Lead Telecommunication Engineer (Iraq)

About the role

The Lead Telecommunication Engineer will be responsible for designing, specifying, and overseeing communication systems across satellite, line‑of‑sight, fiber‑optic, telephone, and public address networks, as well as data transmission from SCADA systems. The role operates under general supervision and requires independent evaluation of engineering techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design and specify communication infrastructure, including satellite, LOS, fiber‑optic, and public address systems.
• Plan, schedule, and execute engineering projects, ensuring compliance with technical criteria.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges and material constraints.
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to align engineering deliverables with operational goals.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, with typical experience ranging from 6‑10 years.
• Proven ability to work independently and make judgment calls on engineering methods.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle conflicting design requirements.
