HSE Lead (Kirkuk, Iraq)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced HSE Lead to join its Iraq Business Unit. Based in Kirkuk, you will support the delivery of health, safety and environment activities for major oil and gas operating assets as part of a broader safety management programme.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct HSE assessments and support safety studies for oil and gas facilities.
• Develop technical deliverables and engineering documentation for multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide HSE expertise during operation, maintenance, and modification projects.
• Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Travel as required to support project sites across Iraq.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HSE roles within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of safety management programmes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work on‑site full‑time and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
