Freight Forwarding Specialist

About the role

Delterra Logistics is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Specialist to join its Erbil operations team. This full‑time, office‑based position will coordinate international freight movements, primarily between Turkey, Iraq and global origins, while delivering efficient shipment management and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end freight operations across land, sea and air.
• Prepare and manage import/export documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, CMR and customs paperwork.
• Liaise with clients, agents, shipping lines and customs brokers.
• Organise shipments to and from Iraq, including border operations at Ibrahim Khalil and Umm Qasr.
• Monitor shipment progress, troubleshoot issues and ensure timely delivery.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers and logistics partners.
• Maintain compliance with customs regulations and internal procedures.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping processes and documentation.
• Experience handling shipments to or from Iraq (preferred).
• Fluent in English and Turkish; Arabic or Kurdish a plus.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
