Field Coordinator / Survey Supervisor

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development Center is looking for an experienced Field Coordinator / Survey Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day implementation of a mixed‑methods research project in Baghdad and Basra, Iraq. The assignment combines a quantitative survey of 1,000‑1,200 respondents with qualitative interviews and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all fieldwork activities across the assigned governorates.
• Develop and follow a detailed field implementation plan.
• Identify suitable field locations and devise respondent access strategies.
• Recruit, train, and mobilise enumerators and field staff.
• Supervise data collection to ensure adherence to sampling methodology, questionnaire protocols, ethical standards, data‑protection requirements, and quality benchmarks.
• Monitor field progress, troubleshoot issues, and report on milestones.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating large‑scale surveys or field research projects.
• Familiarity with mixed‑methods research designs, quantitative surveys, and qualitative interviews.
• Strong understanding of ethical procedures and data protection in field settings.
• Ability to manage teams, meet deadlines, and maintain high data quality.
