Electrical Supervisor – Power Plant Maintenance

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor leads the electrical maintenance team in a power‑plant environment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of all electrical assets. You will coordinate with operations, instrumentation and mechanical groups to keep the plant running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, schedule and supervise electricians and technicians, enforcing safety practices.
• Plan, assign and review preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for generators, transformers, motors, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS and lighting systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, and coordinate shutdown maintenance with other departments.
• Enforce compliance with NFPA, IEEE and IEC electrical safety standards, conduct JSA and ensure LOTO procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, spare‑parts inventory and safety documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly maintenance reports and support budgeting and procurement of electrical materials.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis of failures and drive corrective action plans.
• Support plant modification projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience supervising electrical maintenance in an industrial or power‑plant setting.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.

Required skills

• Generators, Transformers, Motors, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers (MCC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), UPS systems, Lighting systems.
• Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Fault diagnosis and shutdown maintenance planning.
• NFPA, IEEE and IEC safety standards.
• Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Maintenance documentation, equipment history tracking and root‑cause analysis (RCA).
