Process and Performance Engineer

About the role

The Process and Performance Engineer supports the safe and efficient operation of a power generation plant. Working within the Engineering Department, the role focuses on process improvement, performance monitoring, and root‑cause analysis to maximise plant availability and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to daily plant operations by collecting and reviewing production and efficiency data.
• Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to identify and implement capacity‑utilisation improvements.
• Conduct field performance testing of gas turbines and combined‑cycle units, analyse data against stability criteria, and prepare test reports.
• Analyse operational data, pinpoint technical performance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Guide operations and maintenance on equipment reliability, including financial decisions affecting unit availability.
• Develop strategic overhaul plans, support performance‑monitoring tools, and coordinate outage inspections.
• Apply predictive and preventative maintenance techniques, evaluate process variables, and perform root‑cause analyses.
• Prepare equipment failure reports, update procedures, and provide engineering design and economic justification for projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and support ISO 9001 audits.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in power plant or industrial environments.
• Strong analytical skills for data‑driven performance evaluation.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, maintenance, and external engineering resources.
• Commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement.
