Aircraft Mechanic II – Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician

About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic II – Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician is responsible for performing inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting on T‑6A aircraft, ensuring all systems meet FAA and manufacturer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform launch, recovery, scheduled and unscheduled inspections and maintenance on T‑6A aircraft, including pre‑flight, thru‑flight, post‑flight and phase inspections.
• Troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain electro‑mechanical systems, aircraft structures, components and related equipment at the organizational level.
• Service and operate ground support equipment, conduct interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas, and ensure accurate completion of all maintenance documentation.

Required profile

• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license in good standing.
• Minimum 2.5 years recent experience on Textron T‑6 Texan II aircraft, with at least four years of heavy aircraft maintenance preferred.
• U.S. citizenship, a valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport for facility credentials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, work at heights, and perform duties in noisy, outdoor and inclement‑weather conditions.

Required skills

• OBOGS (On‑Board Oxygen Generation System) maintenance.
• T‑6 life‑support system troubleshooting and repair.
• Interpretation of aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints and wiring/schematic diagrams.
• Operation of ground support and auxiliary equipment.
