Electrical Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join its Basra team on a 28‑day on/28‑day off rotation. The role supports the commissioning of a fast‑track oil‑field development project, restoring and upgrading plant capacity and new electrification networks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support electrical commissioning activities for plant restoration, upgrades and new installations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary commissioning and construction teams to ensure compliance with project guidelines and safety policies.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical system issues to optimise production.
• Assist in the testing, verification and hand‑over of electrical equipment and infrastructure.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer in oil‑field or industrial projects.
• Willingness to work a 28/28 rotational schedule in Basra, Iraq.
• Local Iraqi nationals are encouraged to apply.
