Corporate & Commercial Lawyer – Baghdad

About the role

EY Law is seeking a Corporate & Commercial Lawyer to join its Baghdad office. You will work on high‑profile, cross‑border projects, providing legal advice to multinational clients on corporate and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of complex legal projects, ensuring technical and practical excellence.
• Provide day‑to‑day corporate and commercial advice to clients across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain client relationships both internally and externally.
• Collaborate with other EY Law teams and the wider EY network to generate leads and opportunities.
• Contribute to practice development through training, precedent creation, knowledge sharing, presentations and article writing.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in a reputable legal practice.
• Strong understanding of MENA legal systems and frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strategic and commercial awareness with the ability to solve problems creatively.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of corporate and commercial law topics.
• Familiarity with sector‑specific regulations (e.g., energy, oil & gas) is a plus.
