Civil Engineer – Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings

About the role

Yaqoub Holdings Group is delivering the Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings in Erbil, Iraq. We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to supervise and coordinate all civil and structural construction activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, safety and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil and structural works such as excavation, foundations, reinforced concrete, blockwork and external works.
• Inspect reinforcement, embedded items and formwork before concrete placement.
• Coordinate concrete pouring with QA/QC, consultants and HSE teams, monitor testing, curing and quality control.
• Track concrete defects and drive corrective actions.
• Integrate civil works with architectural layouts, MEP services, medical equipment foundations and wet areas.
• Verify structural openings, sleeves and inserts before casting.
• Oversee external infrastructure including roads, drainage, utility trenches and ambulance access routes.
• Prepare inspection requests, support NCR resolution and maintain accurate construction records and as‑built documentation.
• Collaborate with project management, consultants, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams for efficient delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience on large‑scale construction projects, preferably healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, foundations, formwork systems, blockwork and external civil infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating with architectural and MEP disciplines.
