Assistant Manager - Electrical

About the role

An Accor hotel in Baghdad, Iraq is looking for a detail-oriented and decisive Assistant Manager - Electrical. You will provide technical leadership and operational oversight of the electrical systems and maintenance team, combining strong technical expertise with management capabilities to ensure performance, safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the electrical maintenance team, keeping to schedules and performance standards
• Oversee maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment to minimise downtime
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes and schedules
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, codes and organisational policies
• Analyse electrical system performance data and identify efficiency improvements
• Coordinate with other departments on maintenance requests and project timelines
• Carry out regular safety inspections and audits, document findings and implement corrective actions
• Train and mentor team members on technical procedures, safety protocols and best practices
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance and budget use
• Manage inventory of electrical equipment, parts and supplies while controlling costs
• Respond to electrical emergencies and coordinate emergency response
• Work with senior management on capital planning and equipment replacement

Required profile

• 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, operations or a related technical field
• 1-2 years of supervisory or assistant management experience
• Leadership and team management capabilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks

Required skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment and industrial applications
• Current electrical safety certification or equivalent
• Reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Preferred: maintenance management software or computerised systems, familiarity with Iraqi electrical codes, and additional technical certifications
