Architectural Engineer – Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings

About the role

Yaqoub Holdings Group is delivering the Al-Qalam Hospital Buildings, a modern healthcare facility in Iraq. We are looking for an experienced Architectural Engineer to supervise, coordinate, and monitor all architectural and finishing works, ensuring they meet approved drawings, specifications, and the project schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate architectural and finishing works such as plastering, flooring, tiling, painting, suspended ceilings, gypsum board, cladding, façades, doors, windows, glazing, and aluminum works.
• Ensure finishing activities start only after civil, waterproofing, and MEP rough‑in works and required inspections are completed.
• Coordinate architectural works in patient areas, clinical spaces, corridors, wet areas, staff facilities, and public areas to support hospital functionality.
• Manage interfaces with medical equipment installations, access panels, ceiling systems, and service openings.
• Review architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans, door/window schedules, façade details and identify coordination issues with MEP, HVAC, medical gases, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Approve material samples, mock‑ups, and workmanship; monitor construction quality, identify defects and ensure corrective actions.
• Support snagging, de‑snagging, inspections, testing, commissioning activities and prepare handover documentation.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and coordination documentation while working closely with project management, consultants, subcontractors and quality teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural engineering on construction projects, preferably hospitals or large‑scale buildings.
• Strong knowledge of architectural finishing works, façade systems, quality control and project handover processes.
• Experience coordinating with MEP systems and medical equipment installations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit.
• Familiarity with BIM processes.
