Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will ensure the accuracy of financial records, produce timely reports, and support daily accounting operations. This role is pivotal for maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal policies while collaborating with multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries; maintain general ledger accounts.
• Execute accounts payable and receivable functions, including reconciliations and payment tracking.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, schedules, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor receivables ageing and enforce credit control procedures.
• Maintain fixed asset register and prepare depreciation schedules.
• Support inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and production costing activities.
• Verify and post invoices in the ERP system.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Coordinate with stores and other departments for accurate inventory and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; GCC experience preferred.
• Professional certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience in accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and costing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
