Compliance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and enhance our bank’s compliance framework. The role ensures full adherence to local regulations, international banking standards, and internal policies while fostering an ethical culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and controls aligned with banking regulations and standards.
• Ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Iraq, AML, KYC and other regulatory obligations.
• Monitor regulatory updates, assess impact and adjust bank processes accordingly.
• Conduct compliance reviews, internal assessments and risk evaluations across all departments.
• Provide guidance to management and staff on compliance matters.
• Coordinate with internal audit, legal and risk teams to ensure effective compliance practices.
• Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
• Lead investigations of compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver compliance awareness training and maintain proper documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and support external audits or inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of compliance experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi banking regulations, AML, KYC and related compliance requirements.
• Proven experience interacting with regulatory authorities and preparing compliance reports.
• Fluency in Arabic and good command of spoken and written English.
