Financial Auditor

About the role

FiberX is creating its first standing internal audit position, reporting directly to the CEO and operating independently of the functions it reviews. Based in Baghdad with regular travel to Basra and Wasit, you will map the audit universe, conduct a full review of core finance and accounting processes, and establish a rolling, risk‑ranked audit plan.

Key responsibilities

• Design, obtain approval for, and deliver an audit plan ranked by risk and financial impact.
• Revenue assurance – reconcile billing, booked revenue, and banked cash by channel and city.
• Cash and field audits – perform shop counts, collection‑point checks, and warehouse audits on a rotating, often unannounced schedule.
• Payables and payment‑approval testing, including independent re‑performance of major supplier accounts.
• Payroll and incentive recomputation against published schemes.
• Maintain a findings register with owners, severity levels, due dates and close findings on documented evidence.

Required profile

• Seven or more years of experience in audit or financial control, preferably in cash‑intensive, multi‑site operations.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIA or demonstrably equivalent experience.
• Recent hands‑on fieldwork experience – counts, reconciliations, recomputations – not limited to reviewing others’ work.
• Forensic‑level spreadsheet expertise, able to rebuild workbook logic and trace any figure to its source.
• Ability to write findings clearly for non‑accountant executives in both Arabic and English.
• Independent temperament: precise under pressure, reporting facts objectively.
