Electronic Technician II – ATC Communications

About the role

The Electronic Technician II will support Air Traffic Control (ATC) communication systems by performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of radios, switches, and VSAT equipment. This position requires strong technical knowledge of electronic circuits and the ability to work independently on complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and system repairs on ATC radio systems and related equipment.
• Inspect equipment at scheduled intervals, replace defective components, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Execute COMSEC procedures and manage related documentation.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for information technology systems at designated locations.
• Maintain Facilities Status Records (e.g., AFTO 499, 512, 214).
• Verify operational condition of METNAV and integrated systems against technical orders and manuals.
• Perform preventive maintenance, component replacement, and network configuration on ATC VSAT equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a DoD or FAA electronics/industrial course or accredited correspondence program.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in electronics repair, maintenance, and testing of ATC communications equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a manual‑transmission vehicle.
• Willingness to travel on short notice within the area of responsibility.
