Community Life Coordinator

About the role

The American University of Beirut is looking for a dynamic Community Life Coordinator to enhance the wellbeing, integration, and sense of community among faculty and staff, especially those relocating from abroad. This role combines relocation support, event planning, and campus‑life liaison responsibilities to create an inclusive campus experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide relocation assistance and onboarding support for incoming employees, including practical needs, campus introductions, transportation, and tailored settlement resources.
• Plan and host social gatherings, cultural celebrations, family‑friendly activities, clubs, and workshops that strengthen employee engagement.
• Organise off‑campus tours and leisure excursions in coordination with external service providers.
• Serve as the primary contact for community‑life matters and contribute to the Campus Quality of Life Committee.
• Develop welcome and orientation materials, resource guides, and a monthly calendar of activities, promoting initiatives through internal communications and social media.

Required profile

• Strong cross‑cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Service‑oriented with a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing.
• Collaborative mindset for working across HR, IT, Facilities, Student Services, Wellness, and external partners.
• Flexible and reliable, willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required skills
