Workshop Controller

About the role

The Workshop Controller oversees the daily operations of the service workshop at a Toyota dealer in Mosul, ensuring efficient workflow, quality repairs and excellent customer service. The role manages a team of technicians, assigns work orders and coordinates with service advisors and the parts department.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate technicians, assign work orders and prioritize tasks so repairs and maintenance are completed on time.
• Review service schedules and workloads, adjusting staffing and assignments to meet customer demand.
• Monitor technician productivity and provide guidance, training and support.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer service standards, warranty guidelines and safety regulations.
• Liaise with service advisors to tell customers repair status, estimated completion times and any extra work needed.
• Coordinate with the parts department to keep parts available and minimize downtime.
• Inspect completed work against customer expectations and dealership standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, technician timecards and service reports using dealership management software.
• Resolve customer complaints about workshop operations and help recruit, train and develop workshop staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technology education or certification is preferred.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) as an automotive technician, focused on diagnostics.
• Manufacturer-specific training and certifications from Toyota or similar programs are highly beneficial.
