Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Expert

About the role

The TVET Expert will be based in Erbil and travel across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to design, implement and monitor vocational training programmes. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role focuses on short‑term training, internship placement and a pilot dual‑vocational scheme.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver short‑term vocational training programmes, including needs assessment, curriculum selection, trainer engagement and outreach.
• Organise job‑matching activities and place trainees in internships with mapped employers, negotiating agreements and providing ongoing guidance.
• Develop and pilot a dual vocational training scheme: concept design, VTC selection, trainer assessment, company orientation, MoU signing, in‑company trainer training and certification.

Required profile

• University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Education, TVET, Educational Management or a level‑6 vocational qualification.
• Fluent English (C1 level) and strong communication skills.
• Minimum 7 years professional experience in TVET, with at least 5 years designing CBT curricula and dual/co‑operative TVET approaches.
• International experience: 5 years outside the Middle East and 2 years within the Middle East.
• Experience in development‑cooperation projects (minimum 5 years).
