National Knowledge and Learning Officer

About the role

The National Knowledge and Learning Officer will support IOM Iraq’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit by establishing and maintaining a mission‑wide Knowledge and Learning Management system. Based in Erbil, the role ensures that lessons learned, research findings and best practices are captured, stored and shared across programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor a Knowledge and Learning Management (KLM) system for the mission.
• Maintain tools and platforms such as knowledge repositories, lessons‑learned databases and management response trackers.
• Systematically capture, store and disseminate programmatic lessons, research outputs, evaluation results and best practices.
• Ensure the KLM system is user‑friendly, accessible to all mission staff and aligned with donor reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with programme teams, PSU, Research Team, Regional M&E Officer and external evaluation partners to integrate learning into strategic planning.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Knowledge Management).
• Experience in knowledge management, monitoring & evaluation or learning functions within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage information systems.

Required skills

• Familiarity with knowledge‑management platforms and database maintenance.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills for capturing lessons and research findings.
