Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Consultant

About the role

The TVET Consultant will be based in Erbil and will travel across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to support the implementation of high‑quality technical and vocational education programmes. The role focuses on ensuring that all analyses, curricula, training‑of‑trainers (ToT) sessions and related documents meet international TVET quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that all TVET analyses, curricula, programmes and training materials adhere to recognised international quality standards.
• Provide best‑practice recommendations for the design and development of TVET concepts, curricula and ToT courses.
• Support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of work packages, including the preparation of analyses, participant profiles and related documentation.
• Assist in organising and facilitating workshops, seminars and other capacity‑building events.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Education, TVET, Educational Management, Private‑Sector Development or a Level 6 vocational qualification (e.g., master craftsman’s certificate).
• Fluent English (C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the TVET sector, with at least one of the following: active‑labour‑market measures, TVET curriculum development, Training‑of‑Trainers delivery, organisational development of TVET institutions, or labour‑market assessments.
• At least 3 years of experience in development‑cooperation projects, including international experience outside the Middle East.
