Surface Facilities Project Manager

About the role

The Surface Facilities Project Manager supports the Asset or Project Manager in delivering the full lifecycle of surface facilities for an oil field customer. This senior position oversees planning, design, construction, commissioning, start‑up and eventual abandonment, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to contractual standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage surface facilities activities from FEED through abandonment, under broad direction of the Asset/Project Manager.
• Coordinate design consultants and construction contractors to optimise design and maximise productivity.
• Apply risk‑management methodologies to identify, assess, prioritise and mitigate project risks.
• Track resources, schedule, cost, change orders and monthly reporting using project control systems.
• Lead internal coordination meetings with PSLs and other department heads, and communicate progress to the customer for contractual approval.
• Approve final engineering revisions, work orders and related invoices; review and submit AFE requests.
• Ensure environmental impact studies meet governmental requirements.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 8 years of progressive experience in planning, design, construction and project management of surface facilities in oil fields.
