Solar System Designer – Engineer for Solar Power Projects

About the role

Progress Sun Co. seeks a motivated Engineer to design and optimise solar power systems for large‑scale projects across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The role combines technical design, field surveys, and hands‑on support during installation.

Key responsibilities

• Design solar systems and evaluate existing designs.
• Use multiple solar energy design and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, PVsol, SketchUp, OpenSolar).
• Conduct site visits and surveys for potential or existing projects.
• Support the team during implementation and installation phases.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience, including at least 1 year in the solar energy sector.
• Fluency in AutoCAD and solar design software (PVsyst, PVsol, OpenSolar, SketchUp, Skelion).
• Proficiency in English, Kurdish, and preferably Arabic (spoken and written).
• Basic computer skills and fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Learning‑focused and inquisitive attitude.
