Steward – Restaurant Kitchen & Dining

About the role

The Steward works in the kitchen and dining areas of a restaurant/cafe in Sulaymaniyah, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organisation. The role contributes to the smooth operation of the establishment through dishwashing, equipment maintenance and basic food preparation support.

Key responsibilities

• Keep kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas clean and sanitized
• Wash dishes, pots and pans by hand or with dishwashing equipment
• Clean and sanitize dining tables, chairs and other surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
• Assist with basic food preparation such as chopping vegetables, washing produce and portioning ingredients
• Stock and replenish dishes, utensils and cleaning products
• Follow safety procedures and health and sanitation regulations
• Work with kitchen and dining staff and perform other duties assigned by supervisors or management

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma
• At least 1 year of experience as a Steward in a restaurant or cafe
• Customer service orientation
• Fluent Kurdish and very good Arabic; English is a plus
