Barista

About the role

EFS Facilities Services, an integrated facilities management provider, is looking for a friendly, customer-oriented and energetic Barista to join its team in the Sulaymaniyah region. The role covers preparing and serving coffee, tea and other beverages, keeping the café clean and hygienic, managing daily operations and delivering a good customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, tea and specialty drinks according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders and other equipment safely.
• Welcome customers, take accurate orders, explain menu items and recommend beverages.
• Maintain consistent quality, presentation, portion sizes and preparation times.
• Keep the café, counters, equipment and seating clean and follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety rules.
• Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, tea and cups, and help receive, store and organise supplies.
• Handle payments, run the POS system where required, and record daily sales, stock usage and wastage.
• Support opening and closing, handle customer complaints and escalate issues to the supervisor.
• Work with colleagues and supervisors during busy periods and follow company policies and grooming standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a barista, café attendant or in a similar food and beverage role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso-based drinks and beverage presentation; ability to operate coffee machines.
• Strong customer service, communication and organisational skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English and Kurdish preferred; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• High school certificate or equivalent preferred; hospitality or barista training and food safety certification are advantages.
• Neat, professional appearance in line with grooming standards.
