Special Educator – Inclusive Education for Children with ASD

About the role

The Special Educator will join KADD ACADEMY’s multidisciplinary team in Sulaymaniyah, delivering individualized and group instruction to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental differences. Working full‑time on‑site, you will create supportive learning environments that align with the academy’s evidence‑based ABA approach and therapeutic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and regularly update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each learner.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet academic, functional and social‑emotional objectives.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group lessons using evidence‑based strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Collaborate daily with behavior therapists, speech‑language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, and families to ensure cohesive intervention plans.
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to case conferences and team meetings.
• Support school‑readiness and inclusion initiatives, assisting children in transitioning to mainstream education.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Special Education with experience supporting learners with autism and other disabilities.
• Proven teaching experience in inclusive or specialized settings, preferably with middle‑school age groups.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Education, Psychology or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and families.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical, evidence‑based practice.
