Solution Engineer – Compute & Storage Solutions

About the role

Black Star is looking for a Solution Engineer – Compute & Storage Solutions to join our Enterprise Digital Solutions team. The role focuses on engaging customers, understanding technical requirements, designing and sizing compute and storage solutions, and supporting opportunities from presales through implementation and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers to understand infrastructure, capacity, performance, and availability requirements.
• Design and size enterprise compute and storage solutions.
• Prepare solution architectures, BoQs, technical proposals, and tender responses.
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and POCs.
• Size storage based on capacity, IOPS, throughput, growth, replication, and availability requirements.
• Work with multiple technology vendors to develop technically sound and commercially competitive solutions.
• Support implementation, testing, handover, and technical troubleshooting.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and relevant vendor certifications.

Required profile

• 2+ years of relevant experience in presales, solution engineering, infrastructure, compute, or storage.
• Strong customer‑facing experience with the ability to understand requirements and present solutions.
• Experience designing and sizing enterprise storage and compute solutions.
• Knowledge of SAN, NAS, Object Storage, Enterprise Servers, Virtualization, Backup & Disaster Recovery, Fibre Channel, Storage Networking, High Availability & Replication.
• Experience with vendors such as IBM, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, NetApp, Pure Storage, Hitachi Vantara, Nutanix, VMware/Broadcom, Red Hat.
• Professional Arabic fluency and good English communication skills.
• Preferred experience working with banks, oil & gas companies, government organizations, telecom operators, or large enterprises.
