ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit

About the role

The ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit will lead the Common Premises ICT team, ensuring high‑quality ICT services that support UNDP operational needs. The role combines strategic planning, infrastructure management, team supervision and compliance with UNDP ICT policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ICT team, coordinate implementation of ICT activities, integrate assets from UNAMI and oversee de‑commissioning and repurposing of infrastructure.
• Develop local ICT budgets, procurement forecasts and asset‑management reports for internal and donor reporting.
• Manage help‑desk services, network availability and end‑user support while supervising national ICT staff and contractors.
• Collaborate with UNDP ICT teams on network and security management, including secure infrastructure planning, performance monitoring and cybersecurity incident response.
• Ensure ICT security measures, business continuity planning and disaster‑recovery testing are in place and regularly reviewed.
• Support IT project work, prepare terms of reference, coordinate project activities and provide guidance to junior staff.
• Draft correspondence, periodic reports, maintain technical documentation and oversee financial and billing management for ICT services.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to achieve results, think innovatively and adapt with agility in a complex, multi‑agency environment.
• Strong people‑management competencies, including partnership building, diversity and inclusion, and effective communication.

Required skills

• ITIL certification (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
• Network infrastructure management.
• Cybersecurity principles and practices.
